BASE rewarded for investments in digital customer experience thanks to My BASE app

At Fast Company's prestigious 'Innovation by Design Awards' last August, the “My Budget Control” feature in the My BASE app was given an honorable mention in the ‘User Experience Design’ category. This feature in the app gives BASE customers considerably more control over their budget and bill. And that's not all: the application, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, currently boasts the highest rating in the sector in Belgium on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store platforms.

Out of more than 2,000 entries across various categories, the My BASE app, and more specifically the ‘My Budget Control’ experience, received an honorable mention in the ‘User Experience Design’ category along with several others. This puts it on the same footing as Google, Samsung and Mercedes, etc. BASE is the only Belgian company to have received recognition in this category this year. This is a great achievement, because Fast Company is a renowned international organization in innovation, technology and design and their awards set global standards (see https://www.fastcompany.com/91129827/user-experience-innovation-by-design-2024).

Control experience

The ‘My Budget Control’ feature in the My BASE app received an honorable mention in the ‘User Experience Design’ category. This feature, a creation of BASE and partner November Five, shows customers the ins & outs of any additional costs, and allows them to make an informed choice and set their usage and cost limit to avoid any unpleasant surprises. This gives them total control over their budget.

Best scores

And the fact that the My BASE app is not only appreciated and well rated by an international audience, but also by its customers, is obvious from the scores in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. With customer scores of 4.7 out of 5 and 4.3 out of 5 respectively, the My BASE app scores best of all telco apps!

This is reflected in the behavior of BASE customers, with almost one in two regularly using the application. For customers who recently joined BASE, this increases to as much as 80%.

According to Gerald Demortier, Responsible for the BASE Brand within Telenet group:

"These two forms of recognition clearly indicate that BASE's ongoing investment in digital customer experience is not going unnoticed and is something we can be proud of. Our application has been considerably improved over the past year, notably in the context of the extended BASE offer, which now includes internet and television in addition to mobile. Thanks to our partner November Five, we've gone from a functional, reactive tool to a proactive support tool that helps customers manage their services autonomously, giving them the peace of mind they're looking for. And we're not stopping there, as we're currently testing new features that will respond even more closely to the changing expectations of customers and further strengthen their emotional bond with the brand”.
